Ed Friedman founded the Friedman Real Estate Group, a holding company that specializes in consulting, brokerage, property management and development. Mr. Friedman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a Major in Real Estate from Ohio State University, an MBA degree from San Francisco State University, a Law degree from the University of San Francisco and a Master’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from Penn State University.
In addition to his academic degrees, Mr. Friedman earned the MAI designation of the Appraisal Institute, the Certified Property Management (C.P.M) designation of the Institute of Real Estate Management, the Certified Commercial Investment Member (C.C.I.M) designation of the Commercial Real Estate Institute and the Counselor of Real Estate designation (C.R.E.).
Mr. Friedman has over 45 years of experience in the real estate business in all types of property including shopping centers, hotels, mobile home parks and many types of residential properties and he is a partner in Hospitality Asset Management Co., Inc., a firm which specializes in hotel development and management.
Mr. Friedman was an instructor for Penn State University in the school of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, and for the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors. He currently serves as a chairman of the Assessment Appeals Board of Centre County, Pennsylvania.
His consulting service specializes in feasibility analyses, rental studies, lease negotiations, market analyses, highest and best use studies, site selection, investment projections, expert testimony and hospitality consulting. He has done appraising and consulting for many of the Fortune 500 companies as well as governmental agencies.
He and his wife, Charlene, are very active in community affairs in Central Pennsylvania and have two children, two grand-children, three dogs and a herd of Alpacas.
